Nuts and Bolts...

Good Morning Crafters

Another sample using one of the new Woodware releases.  The Rusty Robot stamp is so stinking cute and is perfect for masculine and kids cards alike.

For this card I used an off-cut from some stenciling I had been doing with distress oxides on Kraft card as well as an off-cut from Seth Apter style painted card (made at a class last year).  The paints are available in the shop so you can have a go at making your own rusty type background.

Reuse, Recyle #5 - Tissue Paper

Good Morning Crafters

I thought it was time to share a sample using one of the new Woodware releases and some recycled stash.

For this sample I have stamped on tissue paper.  I used a combination of Distress Oxides and Paperartsy paint on a white piece of cardstock and then adhered the stamped image using gel medium.  I sprinkled a little clear embossing powder on the light bulb to give a glassy effect.  The main base of the card is again done with distress oxides and parts of the same stamp to create a background, and finished off with Black Soot Distress Ink to darken the edges which also has the effect of lightening the centre.

Payper Box White card stock for base card and centre and black cardstock.
Woodware Dream Machine stamp
Black Archival Ink
Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber and Peeled Paint Distress Oxides
Paperartsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paint - Translucent, Banana (You only need a small amount of this and a drop of water to thin it out even more.  Spread very lightly over the distress oxide background to give highlights.)
Clear Embossing Powder

Francoise Read workshop

Good Morning Crafters

I can't believe it's been two weeks since my last post, life got in the way for a bit but I'm back and today I wanted to share one of the cards I made at the Francoise Read workshop.  It's been one of the best received workshops we have had at Keep on Crafting, and who knows maybe there will be more workshops sharing Francoise's talent.

As a little bonus for my slack posting of late I have a short video on the technique we were taught at the workshop for those of you that missed it or just need a quick reminder.  To watch the video click here

Time Flies

Good Morning

Another masculine card today.  I've gone a little mixed media on this. The background is made with distress oxides and the stars were created using a damp cloth through the stencil.  I have attached one of the elements with staples and created lots of layers using stamps and papers so it will still go via standard postage.
