Dates for your diary

Good Morning Crafters

I managed to pop in for a few minutes on Friday to see Dot Clark's demos with the Crafter's Companion 3D Embossing Folders, which are fabulously detailed, and learnt a couple of new techniques which I can't wait to try out.  If you missed my post on Friday using the Country Garden design you can see it here.

On Saturday afternoon I had lots of fun at Chris Steven's workshop with the Distress Oxides, as always Chris' enthusiasm was infectious and the techniques had us all oohing and aahing! Here is a sneak peek of the pieces I created, no finished projects as Chris' classes are all about cramming in lots of techniques.  Once I have put some projects together I will share them here.  Head over to the Facebook page to see a photo from the workshop.

I have booked on to the follow-up workshop on 19th August, if you are interested there may still be spaces left, just call the shop on 01284 701101.  I also took the opportunity to stock-up on my collection of Distress Oxides as they are still only £5.99, this deal is only on until 31 July 2017, so if you can, pop along to the shop or over to the website.

Have you tried the Crafts Too Press to Impress stamp board?  It's a great stamping platform tool for your clear and rubber stamps. I know there are a few of these stamping platforms but at £23.50 the Press to Impress is quite possible the most inexpensive on the market. It's a favourite with craft demonstrator, John Lockwood, who incidently will be tutoring two workshops at the shop on 6th September, places are limited already but it's worth checking availability if you are interested.

Diary Dates;

5 August - Stix 2 Craft Day with Rushanne Young

12 August - Spellbinder Dies workshop with Christine Emberson.  The opportunity to create with these quirky little designs from the My Little Red Wagon Range by Debi Adams.

16 September - Mixed Media Tags with Tania Talat Ahmed from WOW Embossing Powders

Here is a link to Tania's blog where you can see her fantastic creations http://taniaahmeddesigns.blogspot.co.uk/

To book any of the workshops just call the shop on 01284 701101 or visit between 10.30am and 4.30pm, Tuesday to Saturday.

Editor's Pick

My pick this time is one of my trusted favourites that I have used for a long time.  My Woodware Trimmer is definitely on my Desert Island craft list.  Firstly I love the fact it's the grey runner strip that wears first not the blade.  You can turn the strip and use the other side and replacement strips are inexpensive.  It also has decorative blades and a scoring blade.  I have the older version and am yet to change my blades I have only replaced the strip.  The updated version is available now in the shop which comes with one straight blade and one scoring blade.  Replacement blades comes in twins packs of straight or scoring and a 3 pack of decorative blades; Victorian, Pinking and Scallop.

Keep on Crafting!
