Today's post is a pretty piece of home decor using rice paper and Starlight Paints.
I have painted an MDF heart with Dried Rose and Lilac Mist Starlight Paints, I have not primed the piece just sponged on two coats (leaving it to dry between each coat) of the Starlight Paints directly on to it using cut-n-dry foam
A tip I picked up from Margaret is the more you pounce the paint on to a surface the more sparkle will come through.
Using structure paste I have picked out elements of the tree from the Bird Cages stencil. I adhered torn elements from Rice Paper Model No. 142 using decoupage glue.
The musical notes are by Snipart and are painted with Sax Blue Starlight Paint. To finish I have added ribbon for hanging.
Keep on Crafting!
There are still a few places left on tomorrow's class; Stamping for Beginners - This is the first workshop in our mini course of rubber stamping for beginners, repeated due to popular demand. The first class will include a free rubber stamp and Rushanne will guide you through the different propeties of the various ink pads available. Then you will have the chance to try out some stamping under her expert eye. We will have you creating a work of art with stamps in no time at all. Ideal for both people who have never used stamps or for those who have never got quite to grips with them. Stamping is definitely making a come back and is a huge part of papercrafting.
All items are available from the shop and we hope to see you there. For those of you not able to get to Bury St Edmunds I have, where possible, provided a product/website link. Remember if you can't see what you are looking for on the website then do not hestiate to contact Mandy and she will let you know if it's in stock or whether she is able to order it. You can also make contact via the Facebook page.
