Festive Decoupage in a Box

Good Morning Crafters

As I mentioned in Tuesday's blog post, on the 2nd September Chris will be demonstrating the box card from Craft Creations and I said I would be sharing a completed one and it's here!

The boxes come in packs of five for £5.25, they contain 5 springy inserts too, I will share one of those on another post.  Once you have made up a box your imagination can run wild as to how to decorate it.  I have choosen to add the Robin on Holly (DCD654) die-cut decoupage to the centre of my box using Pinflair glue gel (you could use 3D foam pads but the Pinflair gives you wiggle time) and then go crazy with "snow" mediums.

I added iced crystals and fluffy stuff to the bottom, glossy accents to the berries and Robin's eye, Clear Rock Candy Stickles to the holly leaves, Wow White Embossing Powder to the edges of the box with some Perfect Medium and a few spots of White enamel accents.  I did try to add a little white frantage as well but most of it was blown away by the heat gun (chunky Frantage embossing enamel really needs to be heated from underneath).

I think you could easily batch make these for Christmas, the only thing that takes a while is the drying of all the mediums but you could leave them overnight or speed up the process by using a heat gun, putting the box together and building the decoupage takes only a few minutes.

These boxes aren't just for Christmas they can make delightful cards for any special occasion.

Keep on Crafting.
